GMC Multipro Tailgate

The 2019 GMC Sierra boasts an innovative new feature: the world's first six-function MultiPro™ Tailgate. Its design incorporates a smaller inner gate hinged within a traditional tailgate. This seemingly simple setup opens up a world of options. Here's an overview of its functions.

The MultiPro™ tailgate can open and close like a traditional tailgate -but thanks to its damper and torsional spring, it's easier to raise and smoother to lower. Plus, you can conveniently lower the tailgate with the touch of a button on the instrument panel, key fob, or the tailgate itself.

The MultiPro™ load stop feature essentially extends the truck bed, allowing you to safely haul long items like paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, and lumber. The tailgate features both an inner and primary load stop, allowing you to get the fit you need.

The Sierra's standard CornerStep makes it easier to enter and exit the cargo bed, but the MultiPro™ takes that convenience to the next level. Simply fold the tailgate to create a 48-inch-wide step that can hold up to 375 pounds. For more assistance, you can even unfold a grab bar from the cargo box wall.

Want an easier time loading and unloading your cargo? Lower both the inner gate and primary gate to reach 7-9 inches deeper into the truck bed.

Whether you're camping or tailgating, you don't have to leave your truck running to rock out to your favorite tunes. The MultiPro™ Tailgate is available on the Next Generation 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 and the Next Generation 2020 Sierra Heavy Duty, which offer it on the Denali, AT4, and SLT trims.
